Overview

A stage that shows up anywhere

BOOMBA is a mobile sound platform (aka soundcar) designed to bring high-impact music experiences into spaces where traditional stages don't belong.

Built on movement, scale, and precision, BOOMBA combines festival-grade sound, lighting, and performance into a self-contained system that transforms streets, open land, and unconventional venues into moments of shared energy.

I built the whole thing myself. Not directed, not outsourced: designed the structure, welded the frame, engineered the sound system, wired the power and lighting, and built the brand, website, and media kit around it. One person, from first sketch to first show.

Design

A brand designed to be rebranded

The design challenge: build an identity strong enough to headline a show, neutral enough to hand over to a sponsor. I designed the matte-black rig as a canvas, with every brand touchpoint made swappable.

  • 40" Hero Sign · Illuminated circular sign with a fully swappable face
  • RGB Lighting System · Programmed scenes matched to any brand palette
  • Flags + Banners · Modular mounting points across the rig
  • Vehicle Design · Matte black base that works with any identity

Process

Sketch. Weld. Wire. Tune.

BOOMBA started as a construction drawing and became a one-person fabrication project. I designed the 16' × 8' elevated stage structure and welded the frame onto the HMMWV platform, engineered the rigging for speakers, booth, and the 40" hero sign, then wired 25kW of generator power through the lighting and sound systems.

The sound design is mine too: a Danley-based system speced, placed, and tuned for open-air throw, with booth monitoring and FOH mixing built into the deck. Every discipline on this site (design, production, fabrication, engineering) converges in this one machine.
